Aural Development is a subject which is programmed for three at the Royal Conservatoire. In the first two years it is examined after each semester with a test. Each of the different levels roughly corresponds to one semester. So Level A is equal to the level of the first year, first semester - Level B is equal to the level of the first year, second semester, etc.
In the third year the focus shifts to solfeggio with the instrument, and analytical listening to musical forms.
Within each level you will find two categories: * exercises: short and elementary 'warm up' exercices, extensive exercises and exams.
The basic exercises are about recognizing tone functions, intervals, chords and rhythms.
